The Long Haul: The South Bronx has been notoriously known as "Asthma Alley" due to its alarmingly high asthma rates, which can be attributed to the egregious amount of environmental pollution that plagues the area- specifically due to the abundance of warehouses that creates constant truck traffic within residential communities. However, city policies have been encouraging the growth of these warehouses despite community members actively fighting for more regulation. The Long Haul captures the history of this ongoing conflict and highlights the work done by community organizations in their fight for environmental justice.
